Matthew 25:35-36: "For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited me in; naked, and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me."
A little over a week ago Tropical Storm Agatha swept through much of Central America, hitting us here in El Salvador pretty hard. We had several days of non-stop torrential down pour. Deluge if you will. Many places were flooded and numerous homes were not built to withstand this kind of rain. There is fear of mudslides. But thank the Lord that King's Castle has the resources to respond to disaster. Brother Don Triplett received a phone call from the AG Superintendent here to see if we could help some of the AG churches that are way out in the boonies. There were 8 churches a couple hours outside of town close to the Guatemalan border that needed clothes and food. We spent some of the day on Thursday packing rice and beans and pasta and canned food and the rest of the bag contained 4 outfits. 400 bags later we loaded up on Friday early and headed out. Here are some pictures of the day.
Some of the Master Commission Students and I packing pasta.
My attempt at carrying things like the Salvadoran women do= FAIL
This is how it is done....feeding the baby..walking...carrying a 15lb bag on her head.
We not only handed out clothes and food we also took the opportunity to share Jesus with the kids and adults that were there. Somewhere around 40 people accepted Christ that day.
They were so happy to be able to receive something.
